A Minnesota owned and operated business, Sitterella was founded by a busy mother of three children under the age of 10 who strived to offer other families what she had difficulty finding – reliable and affordable sitters and cleaners.

Sitterella's Story |
|
Since my husband and I have no extended family in the Twin Cities area to
take care of our kids for us, it was a constant struggle to come up with competent
and trustworthy babysitters. I’d find a great sitter and then she’d discover boys or move away to college. My college age babysitters would often leave the state for the summer. Additionally, I watched my friends agonize every year about where
to find childcare for their children when school was out for the summer. |

Besides there was the issue of my house and the lack of time to keep it clean.
As a multi-tasking mom, I dreamed I could find someone to clean my home for a manageable price. Disappointingly, the cleaning services that I saw advertised were unaffordable. |

|
Then I thought about how expensive college is and wondered how students manage
to cover expenses. Where could I find someone like me, who cleaned houses and babysat
when I was in college to make ends meet? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if there was a
service that offered opportunities for families to develop a network of sitter and
cleaner options while simultaneously connecting students with families they could
work for as time permitted rather than needing to hold down a regular job that could
clash with their schedules?
College kids need to eat and I wouldn’t have to scrub my bathroom tile. |

With this inspiration, and countless hours of brainstorming and planning,
my dream became reality and Sitterella was established! |
